Is Map on Finger location of user more accurate than Map on GPS location?

I am making an Android application where I need to get the location of the phone. I am using the following code:
Criteria criteria = new Criteria();
LocationManager lm = (LocationManager)getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
Location location = lm.getLastKnownLocation(lm.getBestProvider(criteria, false));

This code works good most of the time, but if the user is in a place with poor satellite signal, the GPS is sometimes unable to detect the location, and thus will give the last known location. Also, this location is not always accurate enough for my application, and I would like to be more accurate.
I have read about Google’s Map with Finger location, and am wondering if it is more accurate than GPS.
How can I determine if I should use Google’s method or use the LocationManager methods?
