The ABC reality TV series, “Little Superstar,” will premiere Thursday and will follow New York 8-year-old Kiya Aversito, who was born with a rare condition called nephrotic syndrome.

“Growing up I was a very shy kid,” Aversito said in a YouTube video posted by the show’s producers. “That’s something that actually made me very popular though, because everybody knows somebody who is shy. And now I have the whole nation now recognizing me as a little shy girl.”

The show will capture Aversito from her home in Far Rockaway, Queens, as she sings, dances and finishes her homework.

“When I get home, I’m just a normal eight-year-old,” she said. “I get to just go out and do whatever I want to do, which is a lot. I do my homework, and then I go to my dance recital. And then it’s my day off.”

The family lives in a poor neighborhood, and while they have a “big, fancy” house in the city, Aversito said, “we can still use the bathtub.”

“It’s one of the few things the city has given us,” she added.

Kiya’s mother, Carla Howard, has worked as a medical assistant in order to keep the family on its feet, but said she knows that some people will judge her family. “I feel like I’ve been blackballed,” she said. “People will just walk up to me and say things like, ‘You shouldn’t be working. I wish I could get a job like that.’”

1. Change Characteristics
Characteristics are prerequisites for every class. They allow you to enjoy all the fun of the game as you customize your character.
* Characteristics cannot be changed after you have already chosen your class.
