(PSVita) Nintendo Selects – Final Fantasy I & II
Among the many games that were announced at this year’s Nintendo Direct, there was one that I personally was holding out for – the ‚Nintendo Selects‘ Final Fantasy series. Needless to say, the details of the ‚Final Fantasy I & II‘ port were nothing short of amazing.
The improved graphics and ‚New Game+‘ (that gives you an added difficulty level) aspects of the ‚Final Fantasy I‘ remake were what grabbed my attention – but this being Ninty Direct, what really excited me was the addition of a NES controller to the game. I’ve been hoping for this for a very long time, ever since I got my hands on the first Final Fantasy NES game (and of course, since I found out that Final Fantasy I was being remade in the first place). Being able to play the original Final Fantasy game on the same controller that you played the previous games on takes the nostalgia and charm of the game to a whole new level.
Unfortunately, it’s not all Nintendoland brilliance in this game – at first glance it would seem that the online battle mechanics aren’t nearly as deep or enjoyable as the single player aspect. I can understand the need to just port the game to a handheld console, but I feel that Nintendo should of taken more time to polish the online elements before releasing it. Then again, the ‚Final Fantasy I & II‘ Nintendo Selects remake does look pretty polished.
With Final Fantasy I & II on the Nintendo Selects disc, it gives the experience that I’ve been waiting for – the original Final Fantasy in all of its glory. The design of the game is fantastic, and you can see all of the effort that they have put into making the game feel and look like the original PlayStation game. It truly is a true port of the original game.
I would love to see the Nintendo NES version of Final Fantasy IV on the 3DS Virtual Console some day. As for the timing, I don’t know if this version of the ‚Final Fantasy I & II‘ Nintendo Selects is on its way out or if it’s just a temporary edition – but it’s certainly something that’s worth keeping an eye out for if you are a Final Fantasy fan.

To compare intraoperative ligature with percutaneous radiographic or endoscopic ligature with an objective of improving surgical outcome. A systematic review and a Bayesian meta-analysis of the randomized controlled trials comparing intra-operative ligature with either percutaneous radiographic or endoscopic ligature for the treatment of non-responsive chronic rhinosinusitis were performed. Outcomes included the success or failure of surgery, polyps and recurrence. Review Manager software was used to conduct the analyses.
