i hope its not the case that you have to change the color of color scheme of network adapters under windows servers 2003 and above, that the operating system by itself does not allow, but you can actually do that via registry modification, is anyone aware of how to do that?
Thanks for the tip, it works beautifully on my Win8 system. Its almost the way I like it but not quite. I find that the background image is larger than the original folder, not quite square.
It also handles transparent images, but from the last experiment I did this may or may not. I’m not 100% sure. I have heard from a few people that it worked for them but I was unable to get it to work for me.
I think what would be best is if someone made a plugin for Windows Explorer to allow you to select a folder path and select a background image. The app then opens and makes the necessary changes for you. Its a bit of a hassle to open a folder, have to click ok, then open the folder again and click ok to start the background change. It should be possible through a simple plug in, where Explorer changes to your preference for you.
The app looks fantastic and will be a great replacement for the standard background and text change windows explorer has. Windows 8.1 has a nice new option for background images that would be perfect for this. I don’t think this is a bug, but a feature request.
Personally, I don’t use the option to change the background image of the current folder or subfolders because I don’t like how it looks.
Unfortunately, the tool doesn’t allow one to pick a folder path to apply the image. You can, however, add your own path by editing the registry key. It’s a pain, but definitely possible.
