Alert when certain website becomes offline

We have been told by a good friend to only leave the data we need to be online on our website. But we also have a few sub-domains, let’s say: www.example.com, www.example.com/api and www.example.com/data where we have more information as JSON.
So my question is: how can I check if one of our sub-domains isn’t online any longer and alert the user? The same solution should work for mobile, tablet, desktop etc…
An example would be a PHP/Javascript script on all our sub-domains. If we think it’s not the best idea to put the data on the internet then we can put it on a DB, but that is not necessary.

A:

I would use a cron job to poll to check if the target url is still working. That way it could automatically alert users if the url changes without user interaction.

Well, most basically a question of the’size‘ of the game.
The demo has a very clearly defined goal: kill the CEO. You do this by quickly becoming proficient in the available moves, learning where the are-gend weaknesses and triggers, and coming up with creative ways to use them to compensate for the limitations of the game. You do that by shooting at the navigation lights, and dodging. You most likely have to, since you only have a small number of guns to chose from. There are some bosses where you have to take down a huge number of enemies at once, but I don’t think this happens during the demo.
In the full game, the rooms are large, and there are many things to shoot at, and dodge. The layout of the levels is not fully chosen yet, so I wouldn’t expect to get a lot of variety in layout. Expect the game to have a large number of rooms with different layouts. The enemies will be better designed, so you’ll encounter a wider variety of defenses. Bosses will be even harder.
Also, the full game will have multiple choices for weapons. You start with only a small number of guns (that I can remember), but later you unlock and buy way more and find weapons and pick-ups outside of the normal firing range of your „front“ weapon.
Each level will feature 5 different weapons. You’ll have a pistol, two rifles, a shotgun, and a launcher. The pistols, rifles, and shotgun will all have more stopping power that the launcher
