„I’m not sure if I like Elden Ring. Or maybe it’s because it looks like it was made in an 80’s computer graphics engine. The frenetic combat and the almost clunky sense of timing can be aggravating, especially in a competitive game where you’re trying to rack up combos in order to increase your rate of healing. Likewise, there are numerous occasions where healing is available at the cost of losing health pools and attack power, so be prepared to carry that extra weight. The PvP aspect of the game is deep, but I can’t think of too many times where the choice between guns and magic was incredibly clear in a game where specific movesets are tailored to your playstyle or character class. Finally, the unlockables that your character can earn by finding and defeating specific enemies are fantastic and include some of the most memorable characters and moments I’ve seen in any video game. However, there is also a lot of tedious unlocking that can be incredibly frustrating.
