We have been reviewing the gameplay of FIFA 22 since then and wanted to share our experience with this year’s edition of the FIFA franchise. In our view, FIFA 22 is a very enjoyable game, and the more we played the more we loved it. But every FIFA game we have tried so far, including the last two versions of the series, has had its flaws.

The new FIFA version has a few of its own. Such as the time when we were trying to kick a ball into the open net of a keeper, while he was diving at top speed towards the ball, and the ball ends up going into the goalie’s mouth instead. Or when we were training a goalkeeper and the ball accidentally ended up in the net. Or when we were playing a match and got a red card because our attacking full-back seemed to have taken a dive, and he was sent off. That was never, ever, ever, a part of real football…

It’s also not the game’s strongest point in the graphical department. If you play a few matches on a high-resolution display, you’ll notice that the game looks almost like every previous FIFA game. Not bad at all, really, but the weather effects and interaction in gameplay are lacking, as they are by the latest installments of the Madden NFL series, and it’s a weak point in the FIFA series.

We also did notice a weird stuttering effect when we were capturing new training data. And that was not the only such thing we noticed. The first and the most obvious example was a weird “how to play football game” simulation, where the ball is going up from the ground into the air and is heading towards the goal. If you try to make that movement in real life, you won’t be able to, because you’re not able to move the speed fast enough.

The game’s beta was also incredibly buggy, because the game was crashing a lot. When we could play, we saw all sorts of bugs, such as certain players running straight into each other or defenders unexpectedly diving towards the ball, or a goalkeeper hitting an opponent twice in the face in a simulation match.
