Why is subprocess.Popen working so slow when running my program?
I am trying to run my program with a number of subprocess.Popen commands, however my program runs very slowly (which I find frustrating).
The reason I was originally thinking of using subprocess.Popen was that I have to pass a lot of parameters to my program as arguments, however if I use subprocess, they will become cumbersome, and if I make the program callable, it won’t be very useful because my program does not return anything.
I’ve tested using subprocess.Popen when my program was ran as a script, and it works fine. But when the same code is run from within a GUI program (PyQt), I have a slowness issue. So the question is what is making it slow when using subprocess.Popen?
Here is some code that shows my issue (a simulation of what I am doing, that I can’t get to work as I would like):

The last version had made great steps forward but they haven’t gone far enough. The software is barely usable.
If you’ve used Vegas on Windows before you already know that there is no good software for this. Vegas or Premiere or iMovie. Filmmaker is a joke and it’s been a bloody joke for a while now.

I have been using Vegas Pro for the past 3 years and I still enjoy using it. Besides easy of use its one of the best creative apps in its class. One thing that can be improved is the software’s slow performance. sometimes the app hangs and the video only can be saved and uploaded from time to time. These slowness problems come when working with RAW footage. So that I feel Vegas Pro is still ahead, but if the problems in the software will be fixed and the software performance will be fast again, then I still say that Filmmaker is the best app in its class.
