How to validate some aspects of a form in jQuery or Javascript

I am making a website with a website that involves some information. It is quite a large amount of data, so I’m trying to make this process as smooth as possible.
The page is split into a top bar of general information and a bottom bar with a lot of form elements. As I am trying to keep things as smooth as possible, I would like to have some validation on the form elements.
I know that I can use the validation function, $(‚#form‘).validate({}) to validate the entire page, however I would like to give more specific information, such as errors on a tag on the form, and then make the rest of the form „over“ the tags in the form, so it shows as nothing

Sub Terra is a cooperative game of survival in a terrifying underground labyrinth.
You take the role of the host and draw a randomly-generated subterranean map in which you and up to five players can explore the caves.
Each player has a unique character, equipped with a special skill. To play, you need to explore the map, gather supplies, and search out a way out of the terrifying cave.
Each turn, the host draws a hazardous card, and the host and up to five additional players must pass the new challenge of the card.
At the end of the turn, each player draws their own hazardous card, and then they must take action based on the situation.
These cards vary from simple attacks, such as floods and cave-ins, to deadly hazards like Leapers and Leptoquarks.
As you advance deeper into the cave, the perils increase. Each time you’re hit by a hazard card, the threat level goes up, so expect these to get steadily harder.
The Host, through their actions, is able to increase the number of players in the game and alter the quality of the map.
For example, by finding 6 new tiles in a map and placing them into the map, the Host could win the game and play two extra rounds with two players.
These tiles are kept hidden from the player, and are only revealed at the end of each turn.
At the start of the game, players choose a main character – each has their own role card.
The Engineer is able to build new caves, the Scout is able to detect new routes, and the Support are more aggressive.
The player also has a sub-set of science tiles that show general symbols that look at a specific resource.
If the tile for that resource is discovered, the science symbol fills out.
Players can use these science tiles when they need to get a specific resource, but they also use them to determine the quality of the tiles being pulled and when and where the tiles are placed.
Using Science tiles effectively is essential, because the game ends when one of the hazards cause the map to run out of tiles.
Sub Terra is designed to play smoothly in single and multiplayer, and it’s fully cooperative.
The Host does not draw hazards or tiles for the other players, so they don’t have any special abilities.
Instead, the Host draws cards for the players based on how they’ve played.
